Acting Joanna’s acting career began learning Shakespeare, including workshopping a production at the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) in England. Notable stage roles include Juliet in “Romeo & Juliet,” Mistress Ford in “Merry Wives of Windsor,” Ophelia in “15-Minute Hamlet,” and Emilia in “45-Minute Othello,” Detective Cole in “Stop Kiss” and more. Training Joanna studied Shakespeare including text with Henry Wishcamper, and voice Kristen Linklater. She learned Theatre of the Oppressed techniques at the Brecht Forum in New York City with founder Augusto Boal and his son, Julian. Joanna studied with Sanford Meisner protegé at Sally Johnson Studio, and completed her 2-year Meisner technique training at the Actor’s Workshop in Ithaca, NY with Eliza Van Cort. Joanna continued her on-camera training with Jen Krater and Paolo Pagliacolo of Krater Studios in NYC/Los Angeles.
